You definitely will need to use Teflon tape to avoid leaks. Also notice the arrow denoting the air flow direction.
It performed great on a quick test once I figured out how to adjust it.
Mine came with the adjustment wide open, so it seemed like I was always getting full pressure.
I finally screwed the adjustment knob clockwise until it stopped and gage read zero. Then by turning it counter clockwise the pressure increased.
1. Invest 40 cents in some Teflon tape. All connections involving a compressor are metal to metal or plastic in some cases(some exceptions are those with rubber seals). To seal from leaks Teflon has been around for about 100 years to resolve that.
2. It's all about the ARROW. Look really close and it shows you the direction of airflow. Main compressor to the back of the arrow (flat side of triangle in case that was confusing) and the pointy tip of the arrow goes toward where you want the air to go. Get this backwards and it won't work.
3. Loosen your grip on those wrenches. Yes this product has some plastic so be gentle. Over-tighten and you'll break it. With proper teflon installation a snug tightening is all you need. If it still leaks add more Teflon. That happened to me since I didn't use enough, hence user error. For me I was able to get the dial to face towards the sky which is exactly where I wanted it. However with the teflon in place you can leave it at any location after a few turns.
4. Size - Almost true to size as pictured. It even gives you specs, they are "8 x 2.5 x 2 inches ; 2 pounds" which was spot on. So look before you purchase if you don't want that size. For airbrushing this is PERFECT!!
5. Moisture cup - Love it. I haven't had to use it at all however plunging the nipple let the air out immanently. I attached a small length hose to a bucket if I ever need it.
In my setup, I have the main compressor in my garage with an extra hose leading to my work space. If airbrushing, I recommend putting a shutoff valve on the incoming main side. I liked keeping the max pressure off of the regulator itself, while not in use, to increase life. If you don't that shouldn't be a problem, I at least recommend getting a quick-connect braided hose for your airbrush. That way when you disconnect your airbrush you don't have air flying out at you. Without either you'll have to run up to the main compressor to disconnect the hose or use its shutoff valve, which mind doesn't have. With my shutoff valve on the input side of the regulator, it allows me to disconnect my airbrush and use the end of my hose as a mini blower. I can turn the valve on and blow off contents while holding on the end of the hose without using any extra fancy extensions I don't need.
Hope this helps.

Once I got the connectors properly installed, (with o-rings) there were no leaks and the regulator worked as expected.
My regulator did not come with a “How to Airbrush” Training Book but that's not a showstopper.
Biggest disappointment was that no airbrush booklet was included despite the ad saying that there is. Would have given 5 stars if the book came with the order.
